Health experts are not seriously concerned about a mystery case of COVID in Queensland after it was found she worked in several Brisbane massage parlours while infectious. The woman, aged in her 50s, was infectious for 10 days before she went into isolation, Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said yesterday. The head of the Queensland branch of the Australian Medical Association, Dr Chris Perry, said he doubted the new case would spark a flare-up.

Despite previously declaring that an unlinked case would spark a lockdown, Dr Young said yesterday that at this point that was not on the cards. She said she was "reassured" by the high level of testing in the area, but urged people to keep those numbers up and come forward for testing with any symptoms, especially in Brisbane's north.
The woman has been fully vaccinated and her three household contacts have so far tested negative for the virus. Dr Perry told Today that hospitals around the country were "too small" and that more government spending was needed, as states prepare to re-open once vaccination levels increase.
