We went here for a drink while visiting the beach the staff were horrendously rude and even the basic drinks were massivly over priced even for Dubrovnik. One of the few sandy beaches of any reasonable size in the area, and I believe the sand is imported, anyway. A stones throw from the harbour and city walls.
It is a shame that over half of the beach is cordoned off and filled with money earning sun beds, which are so close together, you would soon make friends which is ironic because one of the many rules posted above the entrance is that " forbidden sex is not allowed ". So only one person per sun bed, then. Banje beach has wonderful water and amazing view of Lokrum and the old city walls, however what really bothered me is that the biggest part of the beach is covered with chairs and umbrellas for which you have to pay kn the set.

If you don't want to pay for an umbrella you have to go to the public part of the beach which is extremely small in comparison with the other area, which is completely unacceptable. Alexander has taken great care to make sure we always had a cold beer and water for us as we sat under an umbrella enjoying a hot day on the beach in Dubrovnik.
This is a very pricey beach with a not too friendly staff. With so many other good beaches in and around Dubrovnik, I would really avoid this, Been there, done that. You don't come to Dubrovnik to go to the beach, sorry, you just don't. There's plenty to see and learn around the Old Town. But, it was 95 degrees every day we were there, so desperate times called for desperate measures.
The walk is about minutes from the Old Town, depending on where you take off from and there's a convenient Konzum on the way for any sudden needs. The beach itself is small, loud, and crowded. A good spot for teenagers and those in their early twenties.
